Being HeadStrong
With MLA RJ Sigurdson (Highwood Constituency)
COVID-19 has impacted everything, from our homes and families, to how we relate with each other and community, to our work and our businesses. We may all lose a lot in life, but one thing we cannot afford to lose is our sense of mental health and overall wellbeing. When stress and anxiety take over, we lose a piece of ourselves and our ability to function at our best. The real lockdown is in your mind. We need to become “Headstrong”. The Headstrong Program, led by Baby its Cold Outside Charitable Society – and its partner Wellness Innovate - is a collaborative effort focused on supporting people and businesses through the escalated stress and anxiety of the COVID-19, particularly among rural Albertans, entrepreneurs, and SMEs (small or medium-sized businesses). The HeadStrong Program works with SMEs and the Agricultural Sector to support resiliency-building skills during crisis and develop positive coping mechanisms for moving forward post-COVID-19. With these coping skills, community members can enhance their support socials and connections that build mental wellness and resilience. We have developed a series of Group Coaching Programs, along with One-on-One Coaching Programs for rural Albertans in this unique crisis – helping entrepreneurs and SMEs build the skills to manage stress, become better leaders, and create resiliency. Psychological services are also available when requested. All of these services are available free of charge to the employees and leaders of organizations in the Foothills and Highwood Constituency. The HeadStrong Program is funded in part by the Government of Alberta, focused on supporting the mental and emotional health and wellbeing of rural Albertans who are in small or medium-sized businesses or non-profits.
Our programs are designed to be highly engaging - to inspire and support you to be your best.
